The ancient architectural principle of the column and beam gives rise to this piece. A shelf in its most basic form.  The intuitive simplicity of the construction aims to accentuate the natural characteristics of the two materials. The bold growth lines in the solid ash shelves against the soft tactile surface of the white clay.
